Admission


Minimum Criteria for Application

  • ALES score: 70; or GRE-Quantitative: 600/800 (or 148 /170)
  • TOEFL-IBT: 84; or YDS/YÖKDİL: 70 (minimum)
  • GPA for Bachelor Degree: 2,50/4,00; or 65/100
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation
  • No departmental or disciplinary restrictions. Students from all undergraduate majors can apply.

Applicants are evaluated according to Ibn Haldun University’s Graduate Education and Examination Regulations. The admission committee will evaluate applications by reviewing to the applicant’s undergraduate GPA, English language scores (if applicable), ALES or GRE scores, written and oral examinations.

 

How can I apply to the program?

The application process has 2 steps:

  • Online Application

Prospective students should make an online application. Applications of students who do not fill the Online Application Form will not be evaluated. Online applications can be made through Ibn Haldun University Institute of Social Sciences

Students should upload the following documents to the application system:

  • Transcript
  • Statement of Purpose
  • CV
  • ALES or GRE score
  • English language proficiency (if available): YDS/YÖKDİL, TOEFL-IBT
  • Two Letters of Recommendation

Candidates can submit letters of recommendation as hard copies or online documents. Hard copies should have signature; and online versions should be mailed to pols@ihu.edu.tr from an institutional e-mail account. There is no sample letter of recommendation provided by the department. For any questions regarding your application please send e-mail to pols@ihu.edu.tr.

  • Documents Submission after Admittance to the Program

Students who are admitted to the program should submit original copies of the following documents during enrollment process:

  • Official transcript
  • Diploma / Graduation document
  • ID Card or Passport (copies)
  • Military service exemption/deferral document (for Turkish citizens)

 

Scholarships and Funding Opportunities

There are 3 types of scholarships. 

1. Ibn Haldun Scholarship:

Students pay no tuition fee.

They are paid monthly living contribution or they are provided partial living contribution plus housing.

In both options, the amount of living contribution is 50% more than full scholarship living contribution.

2. Full Scholarship:

Students pay no tuition fee.

They are paid monthly living contribution or they are provided partial living contribution plus housing.

3. Tuition Fee Scholarship:

Students pay no tuition fee.
