Assist. Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar, a faculty member of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at our University, presented a paper at the joint workshops organized by the British International Studies Association (BISA) and the International Studies Association (ISA) held in Newcastle, United Kingdom.

Assist. Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar, a faculty member of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ibn Haldun University, presented her paper titled “From Outside In: The Effect of Foreign State Support on Popular Support for Rebel Groups” at the joint workshops organized by the British International Studies Association (BISA) and the International Studies Association (ISA), held in Newcastle, United Kingdom, on October 10–12, 2025. 

In her presentation, Assist. Prof. Uyar examined the complex dynamics between foreign state support and popular backing for rebel groups. The workshop, themed Rebel Governance and External Support, provided Assist. Prof. Uyar with the opportunity to engage and exchange ideas with scholars and experts in the field.

The joint workshop organized by BISA and ISA hosted lively discussions on key topics such as international relations, conflict studies, and rebel governance.
