Assist. Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar Accepted as a Researcher for the COST PEACE Project
Assist. Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar will contribute to the fields of peace and security policies in Europe with her acceptance as a researcher for the "Peace Research Community Europe (PEACE)" project.

Assist Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar, a faculty member of the Department of Political Science and

International Relations at Ibn Haldun University, has been accepted as a researcher in the

"CA23129 - Peace Research Community Europe (PEACE)" project, conducted under the

European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) program.

Kaya Uyar has been selected as a member of the "Europe, Peace & Security" working group,

where she will contribute to international academic collaborations on peace studies, security

policies, and conflict management in Europe.

Dr. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar's acceptance into the COST PEACE project strengthens Ibn Haldun University's active role in international academic collaborations and aims to make a significant contribution to the field of peace studies.

About the Project:

Objectives of the PEACE Project

The PEACE Project will run for four years, from October 21, 2024, to October 20, 2028, aiming

to address key issues in the fields of peace and security across Europe and beyond. The project

aims to:

  • Analyze the transformation of Europe's peace and security architecture,
  • Introduce an interdisciplinary approach to peace and conflict studies,
  • Examine the impact of climate change, new technologies, and social factors on peace processes,
  • Provide academic and professional development opportunities for young researchers,
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange between policymakers, academics, and civil society organizations.
