Prof. İsmail Numan Telci, conducted a working visit to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.

Prof. İsmail Numan Telci, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations and Director of the Gulf Studies and Global Policies Center, conducted a working visit to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, from May 12 to 15, 2026, upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.

During the visit, Telci held meetings with leading think tanks and institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the National Defence University, Quaid-i-Azam University, the Center for International Strategic Studies, and the Islamabad Policy Research Institute.

He participated in a panel titled “Recalibrating Regional Geopolitics in the Age of Greater Eurasia” organized at the Institute of Regional Studies, a think tank affiliated with the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Telci delivered a speech entitled “Türkiye’s Regional Activism and the Case for a New Quadrilateral Architecture”. The conference was attended by an audience of 50 people, including Pakistani and foreign diplomats, senior researchers, and policymakers.

Discussions during the meetings with relevant institutions focused on strengthening Turkiye-Pakistan relations and conducting joint collaborations in regional crisis areas. Additionally, views were exchanged on potential partnerships between Ibn Haldun University and higher education and research institutions in Pakistan.
