The Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ibn Haldun University announces that Asst. Prof. Sumeyye Uyar’s co-authored chapter has been published in the book Global Transformation and Türkiye, edited by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).
The book has been indexed in the Web of Science Book Citation Index (BKCI). The book, contributed by over 60 scholars, addresses global transformation processes and how Türkiye has adapted to these changes. It presents a series of research on various topics, including international relations, economic transformations, migration, technological developments, and other global challenges. This comprehensive work offers significant analyses of global challenges and discusses how Türkiye has integrated into global transformations and its strategic positioning in these processes. The strategic directions of Türkiye’s foreign policy and its responses to shifts in the international arena are also highlighted in the book. In this context, the chapter by Asst. Prof. Sumeyye Uyar offers a unique contribution by exploring how Türkiye’s engagement with UN Peacekeeping Operations is a strategic instrument to advance its foreign policy objectives. The chapter employs rigorous quantitative methods, including logistic and negative binomial regression analyses, to examine the relationship between Türkiye’s peacekeeping contributions and its foreign policy alignments from 2002 to 2018.
Edited by Prof. Ahmet Nuri Yurdusev and Asst. Prof. Mürsel Doğrul, the book was published online in April 2024.
