Idlir Lika Contributes as a Chapter Author to the Book “Balkan Politics”
Assist. Prof. Idlir Lika, a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, contributed to the book “Balkan Politics” with a chapter focusing on the political transformation of the Democratic Party of Socialists in Montenegro.

Assist. Prof. Idlir Lika, a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ibn Haldun University, contributed a chapter to the edited volume titled “Balkan Politics: Political Parties in the Balkans, 1991–2024”, published by the Balkan Research Foundation. The book, edited by Sevba Abdula and Ali Erken, offers a comprehensive examination of the evolution of political parties and democratization processes in the Balkans.

In his chapter titled “Process Tracing the Political Course, Ideology and Transformation of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Postcommunist Montenegro,” Idlir Lika provides an in-depth analysis of the ideological transformation, political orientation, and internal dynamics of the DPS, which held power in Montenegro for many years.

While shedding light on the historical development of political parties in the region, the book also offers a current and multidimensional perspective on key issues such as democratization, state-building, and the transformation of political ideologies. Published as part of the Balkan Politics Series, the volume serves as a comprehensive reference for academics, researchers, and students seeking to better understand the political structures in the Balkans.

We congratulate Assist. Prof. Idlir Lika and wish him continued success in his academic endeavors.
