Asist Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar and Res. Assist. Mustafa Yıldırım from the Department of Political Science and International Relations participated in the 66th Annual International Studies Association (ISA) Convention, held in Chicago, United States, from March 2-5, 2025.
In their study titled” “Changing Narratives in Domestic Conflicts: Regional Powers After the Retreat of Superpowers”, Kaya Uyar and Yıldırım examined how state leaders’ discourses serve as a strategic tool in responding to humanitarian crises. They applied discourse analysis to presidential statements, shedding light on how regional powers shape conflict narratives in an environment where the influence of superpowers is absent. Their findings provide valuable insights into the changing dynamics of global politics.
We congratulate our academics for their contributions to the field and wish them continued success.
