Assist Prof. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar and MA Student Tayseer Khalil Abdalla Mohamedali presented their research on the return of paramilitary groups against states at the 13th Eurasian Peace Science Conference, held at the University of Zagreb.

The 13th Eurasian Peace Science Conference took place on January 24-25, 2025, at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb. The conference aimed to expand collaboration among Eurasian and global peace science researchers and to bring together current research in the field of peace science. 

Dr. Sümeyye Kaya Uyar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, and MA student Tayseer Khalil Abdalla Mohamedali presented their research at the 13th Eurasian Peace Science Conference, held at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Their paper, titled “Rebellion Against State Supporters: Examining the Breakdown of Rebel-State Alliances,” investigates why and how paramilitary groups turn against the states that once supported them, focusing on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.
