Faculty members of Ibn Haldun University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations, Prof. Yaşar Sarı and Assist. Prof. Stephen Siu Kay, presented their papers at the 29th International Central European Political Science Conference, held in Poland on September 18–19, whose general theme was “Politicization and Post-Politics in Times of New Challenges.” This theme addresses the new challenges faced on a global scale and their impact on political processes.
Prof. Yaşar Sarı, in his paper titled "The Impact of Climate Change on Energy Security: Türkiye’s Policies and Strategies," examined the effects of climate change on energy security as well as Türkiye’s policies and strategies in this field. Prof. Sarı’s study provides a valuable perspective to the discussions on climate change and energy security.
Assist. Prof. Stephen Sıu Kay, in his paper titled "Ecological Crisis and the Global Political Economy," analyzed the impact of the ecological crisis on the global political economy, focusing on how environmental issues disrupt economic structures, international trade, and interstate relations. He also conducted an in-depth examination of how the ecological crisis challenges the sustainability of the global capitalist system.
